I've been back carrying my baby since around 6 months so I'm quite familiar with going from the front and turning bub around and onto my back, as per the default instruction for the ombuhimo up.
However at one of Kiki's in person workshops Kiki showed me how to put the ombuhimo on a chair, sit bub on it and and up we went! It was so much simpler than the SSC I was using at the time!
We were nearly but not quite at toddler size yet then, but the thought of such a simple, compact carrier stayed with me for months. And when the growth spurt hit, I snagged this beautiful ombuhimo.
Now that it's part of our carry options, on top of it being so light and soft yet sturdy, I love how easily it can be adjusted for both myself and my husband to carry him. I also love how the straps hang really high and don't get caught on much even if it's usually hanging out for ease of parent swapping.
I did notice that it is a steeper learning curve for my husband as this is the first carrier he's used for back carrying. However once bub is up they are both comfortable :)
