Baby Carriers Made With Traditional Plant Dyes and Weaving Techniques

Introducing the Plant Dyed range by Girasol berlin - baby carriers made of 100% untreated cotton, exclusively dyed with the power of nature and handwoven using traditional techniques. 

Cloth and Carry is proud to partner with the small family business Girasol Berlin, to bring high quality, traditional baby wraps and soft structured carriers to Australia and the Asia Pacific region. 

Girasol were able to win over a small cooperative of Tz'utujil Maya with their traditional knowledge of plant dyeing for a collaboration. 

The new collection of Girasol carriers features fabrics coloured purely with plant dyes. This brings together two traditional Mayan techniques, thus ensuring that the tradition is maintained and passed on. 

Please note that plant dyes can never be 100% lightfast. Depending on the type of plant used, the colour will be a little lighter, sometimes a little stronger. But that is the nature of natural products - this is not a quality defect!
