The LennyLamb Onbuhimo PRO is waistband-free, which makes it unique among structured carriers. This design takes pressure off the abdomen making it a great option during pregnancy, postpartum recovery or for caregivers who simply prefer a waist-free fit.

Q: What ages and sizes is the Onbuhimo PRO suitable for?

The Onbuhimo PRO is designed for children who can sit unassisted:

Standard: approx. 6-18 months (size 00-2 clothing)
Toddler: approx. 12-36 months (size 1-3 clothing)
Preschool: approx. 2-5 years (size 2-5 clothing)

Q: Can I use the Onbuhimo PRO for newborns?

No - Onbuhimo carriers are not recommended for newborns. It should only be used once your baby can sit independently (usually around 6 months+). For a safe fit in a baby carrier with a newborn we recommend the LennyLight or Neko Switch.

Q: Can the Onbuhimo PRO be worn on the front as well as the back?

Yes. While it is primarily designed for back carrying, some parents do use it on the front once their child is big enough to sit safely in the carrier.

Q: Is the Onbuhimo PRO comfortable for parents?

Absolutely. The padded shoulder straps are adjustable to fit a wide range of body types, and the movable chest belt makes it easy to get the right support. Many caregivers find it especially comfortable for short “up and down” carries with active toddlers. Because it does not come with a waistband we would not recommend this carrier for long walks unless you've built up some shoulder strength.

Q: Is the carrier good for warm weather?

Yes! Because of the waistband free design there is less carrier touching your body with helps with airflow and keeping cool.

Q: Is the Onbuhimo PRO safe?

Absolutely. The Onbuhimo PRO is certified to ASTM F2236-16a safety standards and is recognised as “hip-healthy” when used correctly.

It's a great carrier. My husband loves using it with our 3y.o. daughter and is so easy to bring with us on holidays as it is so soft and compact.

Beautiful design and comfy fit

This carrier takes a bit of time to get used to if you don't normally back wear, but it's so great to have your little one nice and high without the hassle of using wraps.

My current baby had not been one that would calmly fall asleep in a carrier. Everytime I've tried to harness her with other front belted carriers it was combat to get her in and also combat to keep her in as she would try any form of gymnastics to wriggle herself out. Due to my own health issues, the belt often gave me really bad backaches too.
Since trying the Lenny lamb onbuhimo, she has fallen asleep numerous times in a carrier. She finds it fun to superman swing on to my back too, which is great not having to do gymnastics to get her in. It took abit to adjust with the weight being on the back than the front but definitely rate the onbuhimo!

Great for a range of ages

Loving this preschool carrier for my 18mo, 3yo and even 5yo. They’re all really enjoying being close to the baby when tandem wearing. It’ll get plenty of love for years to come!
