The Girasol ring sling - the coolest, simplest baby carrier

The ring sling by Girasol is known as a wrap conversion sling, which means that it is made from a 100% natural cotton woven wrap in a herringbone weave with specially made babywearing weight-tested rings. It has a gathered shoulder with an exclusive 5cm seam and coordinated aluminium rings. 

But this sling isn't like the rest! Marigold is dyed with a plant with the Latin name Tagetes Lucida. In German, among other things, known as winter tarragon or velvet flower. The plant is among other things popular for tea or so as a spice in the kitchens. Unlike our also available design Fresh Marigold, here the dried plant is used, which leads to a softer shade of cream. 

Soft, 100% cotton, and wonderfully supportive, the herringbone weave Marigold ring sling from Girasol has a surface weight of approximately 215g/m².

All Girasol ring slings are 70cm wide making them perfect for use with newborn babies right through to preschool aged children.

Due to the simple but amazing mechanism of the double rings, the ring sling can be put on quickly and safely with a little bit of practice. The ring sling can be used from birth (also suitable for premature babies, regardless of birth weight) and is often the perfect baby carrier for anyone wanting something light, breathable and easily adaptable. Even exhausted walking babies are happy to be carried in the ring sling.

Thanks to its small size, it fits in practically any handbag or backpack.

Introducing Girasol's baby carrier collection dyed purely with plant dyes. This brings together two traditional Mayan techniques, thus ensuring that the tradition is maintained and passed on. 

Girasol were able to win over a small cooperative of Tz'utujil Maya with their traditional knowledge of plant dyeing for a collaboration and are very happy about the cooperation!

So now we have a baby carrier made of 100% untreated cotton, handmade and exclusively dyed with the power of nature.

Please note that plant dyes can never be 100% colourfast. Depending on the type of plant used, the colour will be a little lighter, sometimes a little stronger. But that is the nature of natural products - this is not a quality defect!

Machine washable up to 60 degrees. 

To protect the material and the environment, we recommend washing at 40 degrees and using mild detergent.

Due to the rings, please wash in a laundry net or pillowcase and use a low spin speed (max. 900 revolutions).

Please never use fabric softener!

Not suitable for tumble drying because of the rings.

You can order your ring sling in two sizes: 1.70 m and 2.00 m (measured to the shorter side). 
The size you need depends on your physique. Ring slings are worn like a sash: you place it over your head and one shoulder. If in doubt, we are happy to help!

Generally, the sizes fit like this:

Size 1 – 1.70 m (short edge)
Suitable for sizes XS to L (up to approximately ladies dress size 16-18)

Size 2 – 2.00 m (short edge)
Suitable for sizes XL +
